Toronto’s music industry has taken center stage at an international level gaining standing ovations from across the world. With the recent success of Canadian artists such as Drake, Justin Bieber and Hedley, more talent is now being sought after and secured.
As many Canadian talents come together to produce perfection, Toronto-based artist Rippa has been recognized and supported by respected peers as well as his fan base. Rippa’s second single “Everybody Get Up” produced by Juno award winning Beat Merchant is sure to leave a lasting impression with its infectious rhythm. T-Minus, a Grammy award winning producer for artists like Drake, Ludacris, Nicky Minaj, Eminem, Rihanna, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne, has coupled his skills with Juno award engineer Pro Logic, creating an unstoppable force for Rippa’s upcoming album.
Rippa is no stranger to the spotlight and it is evident that he will be Canada’s emerging artist about to continue the legacy of trailblazing talent coming from Hollywood North. Starting to rap at the age of 13, he recorded his first studio single called “Mind What You Do” at the age of 14. He later developed an interest in producing/audio engineering. Rippa then naturally ventured into DJ’ing at clubs and promoting parties, thus becoming well known in Ontario.
You may have seen Rippa make his mark while opening up along side international recording artist Elephant Man, Collie buds, Mr. Vegas and Canadian recording artists, Danny Fernandez and Choclair.
Rippa’s love for music makes him a focused and driven artist, determined to share his passion with the world. Always prepared for the challenges the music industry has to offer, his key to success is having support from his family, a professional team and great friends to always keep him grounded. Good music, good times and always laughter are the keys to which make his success!
Brooklyn, New York, home of some of entertainments most gifted and vibrant superstars also gave birth to this 21st Century rap phenomenon. She is intelligent. She is fascinating…She IS Hip Hop.
Known to the industry as Candis, this burgeoning female artist has the lyrical poise to fall in line with some of the greatest of MCs, both male and female. With more than a decade of caressing line paper with an ink pen, Candis is solidifying her spot as one of the best to emerge out of the Big Apple. Compelled by the likes of Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G, Nas, Foxy Brown, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott and Tupac, it is her very own life experiences growing up in Brooklyn’s Farragut & Fort Greene Projects that allow Candis to demolish any microphone she encounters speaking truth whenever she breathes air into the mic.
It was in 2003 when Candis composed a tear-jerking number in reference to her years growing up and the loss of her grandmother, titled “It’s OK” that she started to see hard work and dedication pay off. The song earned her a $10,000 college scholarship in the annual BMG World of Expressions songwriter contest. Candis has a message in her music that separates her from her peers — a “heart-felt” message that captures the essence of hip hop. Candis is a constant reminder of what the entertainment world is missing.
Given the AKA “SheIsHipHop” by a former business partner after seeing her work in the booth, the moniker became a no brainer! Since the 2011 release of her self-titled mixtape “@SheIsHipHop“, Candis has been performing at some of the hottest spots along the East Coast, and also appearing on internet radio shows throughout the world, gaining fans on every continent. While most suffer the loss of their mixtape buzz after a while, Candis continues to reign. Her work has landed her appearances on MTV’s RapFix Live and on Shade 45’s “Sway in the Morning” show.
In 2012, Candis received three major award nominations including Most Original Female Artist and Best Female Rapper of the Year, which proves that this young lady is already making her mark in the game. In this same year, her website SheIsHipHop.com also received an award for Best Artist Website within 6 months of its launch. Candis not only uses her website as a platform to promote her music, but she also blogs about community issues and promotes other artists as well, including the “Queen of the Month” section that honours another woman working hard at pursuing her dreams.
With the recent formation of her company, Dream House Entertainment, Candis is not only focused on creating great music and empowering her team to learn the music business, she is also doing her part to give back to the community. The Dream House “Make A Difference” Scholarship is one of her latest efforts to provide some financial relief to the college student who submits the best essay. She is also an official sponsor of the Brooklyn-based Educated Little Monsters Youth Group.
Candis is scheduled to release her much anticipated E.P. “Soundtrack of My Life” later this summer. She is definitely the Artist to Watch in 2013 and beyond!

A fine combination of youth and soul blends together, beautifully, to create a style of music that is hers, which cannot be pinned down to any specific genre.her career.
On her slower tracks, her vocals are reminiscent of Pat Benatar. On her up-tempo tracks, her style conjures up thoughts of La Roux, Alexandra Burke or a young Janet Jackson. Though Bella feels familiar, you know that you are hearing something different. Her versatility enables her to explore a wide variety of styles, which is rare for such a young artist!
FrontStreet Records released Bella’s debut single and video “KLOCKIN” in October of 2011 and one thing became clear; Bella commands attention! Monks of Mellonwah
The Monks of Mellonwah are a four-piece alternative/indie rock band based in Sydney, Australia. The band has toured nationally and traveled to the United States twice, winning awards for Best Indie Rock Band (2012 AIM Awards) and Best International Act (2012 LA Music Awards). Their two EP’s and subsequent music videos have gained them worldwide critical acclaim, airplay on MTV’s network and extensive radio play.
Strongly influenced by rock artists such as Led Zeppelin, Muse, Pink Floyd and the Chili Peppers, the Monks’s music displays a masterful and unique blend of intense space, driving riffs and sharp metaphors. As their sound evolved, so did their love for both classic rock and modern progression/experimentation.
Their first EP, “Stars Are Out” found the Monks receiving significant radio play across Australia on community radio. The band released their first music video “Swamp Groove” in April 2011 and enjoyed airplay on ABC’s music program RAGE. “Swamp Groove” also claimed first prize at a music video night at “Harold’s Shorts” short film festival, receiving great reviews and the award from legendary music historian and personality Glenn A Baker.
The Monks released their second EP “Neurogenesis” in May, 2012, along with a new video for “Neverending Spirit”, to an overwhelming response. In addition to international and national radio play, College Radio in the US and Canada, “Neurogenesis” received hundreds of reviews and features worldwide, including coverage on MTV, Big Takeover Magazine, CMJ, Kings of A&R, Noise 11 and Tonedeaf. The media attention earned them licensing spots through a number of production companies in the US including Discovery Networks and Bunim Murray. The video for “Neverending Spirit” also received high profile exposure in the US including MTV Networks. The College Music Journal (CMJ) featured the track on their MixTape for May along with a feature of the band in their magazine.
The Monks successfully toured for “Neurogenesis” throughout Australia in Summer 2012 working with Tone Deaf, and continued their outreach with a United States tour organized by President Entertainment.
Their debut full-length is currently in production, partly with legendary producer Keith Olsen and partly self-produced. The Monks have also signed a development deal with A&R Worldwide (Adele, Muse, Coldplay). Intensive touring plans are in the works for both Australia and the United States in 2013.
On April 1, 2013, the band released the progressive and experimental EP/single “Sky and the Dark Night”, an emotionally charged, heavy offering showcasing the band’s new direction that was hinted at with “Neurogenesis”. It was released on limited edition vinyl and digital only.
Now the Monks have taken a turn again with “Ghost Stories”, truly showcasing the bold new sound they’ve developed over the past year of touring, writing and studio work. Rock, electronic, and strong pop sensibility infuse this offering, meant as a preview of their forthcoming full-length.
