If you were tuned into the NBA all-star game Sunday night, you were witness to one of the rarest moments in recent history: A Kyle Lowry slam dunk.
It’s true, the Toronto Raptors guard not only threw down for the first time this season — one of only a handful of players who can lay claim to that — but according to Lowry for the first time since 2009. (basketball-reference.com claims it was 2008).
Soak it in, Raptors fans — who knows how long it will be until the next one:
Dunk aside, Lowry, a first-time all-star, also had a hand in perhaps the best highlight of the game when he lobbed up a perfect pass to LeBron James for the reverse alley-oop.
Bobby Shmurda’s camp received some good news as it is being reported that one of the rapper’s gun cases will be dismissed in the coming weeks. Lupé Todd, Director of Communications at Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson office has confirmed with XXL that that the Brooklyn charges against Shmurda has been dropped and that, ongoing investigations continue.
The BK MC’s attorney, Howard Greenberg recently told Revolt that the case where Shmurda is alleged to have shot into a crowd outside a Brooklyn barbershop in June 2014 will no longer be on the list of allegations they will have to fight in court. “Brooklyn D.A. office announced that the gun case in Brooklyn will be dismissed in about two weeks,” said Greenberg. The GS9 front man was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in Brooklyn, according to court documents. “It’s just a matter of the D.A. office formally stating [the dismissal] on the record,” Greenberg confirmed with XXL.
As previously reported, Shmurda and his GS9 were arrested in December and charged with nearly 70 crimes including murder, conspiracy and gun possession. Shmurda, born, Ackquille Pollard is currently being held in Riker’s Island on a$2 million bail. He is still facing charges in Manhattan and has an upcoming status conference set for Jan. 29. “The intermediate plan is if there is a superseding indictment on the 29th is to enter a plea of not guilty. The long term plan is to kick some ass and take no prisoners,” said Greenberg in a statement to XXL. The attorney has argued the charges against his client are baseless, claims the government hates rap and Shmurda and his crew were targeted. This is the second bit of good news, the rapper has recently received in his case. Back in December, it was reported the lyrics to the rapper’s song “Hot Nigga” would not be used as evidence in court.
Bobby Shmurda shmoney danced into the hands of police after being arrested for weapon possession in June.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the New York rapper was reportedly flaunting a gun in an apartment in Brownsville, Brooklyn (June 3) and then tried to hide it when cops showed up to investigate.
Officials found a 9mm Glock pistol, along with a magazine for it containing 14 rounds. Shmurda was then charged for criminal possession of a weapon, a felony charge that could mean 15 years of prison time.
Trouble also followed Shmurda during his nightclub appearance in New Jersey Wednesday night (Aug. 27) when gunfire rang off in the parking lot. No injuries were reported.
Beyoncé sister Solange is violent and she unleashed on Jay Z in an elevator last week.
In this bizarre news, TMZ obtained video footage showing Solange physically attacking the rap mogul who is her brother-in-law.
The incident reportedly went down last week at the Met Gala after party in New York at the Standard Hotel.
In the video, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Solange, and Jay Z bodygarud boarded the elevator when Solange went up in Jay Z’s face and started yelling before she physically attacked him.
Jigga’s bodyguard stepped in and pulled Solange off the rap icon. Jay Z did not fight back but he did grabbed Solange foot when she kicked him.
The video also show Solange spitting at Jay Z while the bodyguard was holding her.
It it still unclear why she attacked Jay Z, but the incident occurred over a week ago.
If you look closely Beyoncé did not intervene.
There have been rumors that Beyoncé with her second child for Jay Z. So perhaps that was the reason why she did not intervene in the fight.
If you look closely, the bodyguard also stopped the elevator mid-way to keep the fight private. Hence why no one knew about it.
